About the Homeward Initiative

The Homeward Initiative is a small, volunteer-run public information project with two tasks: keeping the names and faces of America's missing in front of the public, and documenting how Southeast Asia's scam industry works — because a public that recognises the script is harder to rob, and a world that sees the scam compounds for what they are is harder to staff with trafficked labour.

How we work

  1. Official sources first. Cases are reproduced from law-enforcement listings (principally the FBI) or submitted by families with an agency case behind them.
  2. Verification. Submitted notices are checked against the official case where one exists before publication.
  3. Removal. When a person is located, or an agency closes a case, the notice is removed promptly. Families and agencies may request removal at any time.
  4. No money. We do not solicit or accept donations, charge for publication, or run advertising. Anyone claiming to collect money on our behalf is a fraud — report them.
  5. Independence. We are not a government body and are not affiliated with the FBI, NamUs, NCMEC or any agency whose cases we reproduce.

Corrections

Errors in a notice can cost time a missing person does not have. If you spot one, contact us at yzblg1003@gmail.com and we will correct or remove the entry the same day.
